This was Emo Day at my high school, which turned into Goth Day for many, including me. After maybe an hour, several pounds of hair gel, and three female assistants, I sported a fauxhawk and enough black makeup to make a KISS fan proud. The problem is that, as a male, I have never needed to know how to remove eyeliner efficiently. Nor, under most circumstances, would I be expected to know how to. So the logical option, in my position, was to ask someone who did know. Which made for a very, uh, awkward conversation. I think I ended up using Crisco, because I couldn't find any Vaseline. At the time, I lived in a house with my father; makeup removing substances aren't exactly common fare in such a situation.
