The title of this strip refers to 's death in Final Fantasy VII. Her execution by Sephiroth has become an iconic videogame death. Since her death, Aerith has popped up in other FF-related material, perhaps most notably as Cloud's spiritual guide in "Advent Children." Also, yes, I am aware that the line from Hamet 5.1 goes "Alas, poor Yorick. I knew him, Horatio." (the "I knew him well" is a common corruption). However, I deliberately used it in the title for recognizability for those who would not know of the error.
