My astrobiology professor actually posted a list of things the course was not about in his first-day-of-class powerpoint. Quite frankly, I was impressed by the man's knowledge of science fiction. The list (which is reproduced in the strip word for word) includes the average Area 51, UFOs, and so forth. But it includes a lot of extra references. Star Wars is represented, as well as quite a few flavours of Star Trek, from Bynars to Organians; Babylon Five is represented with their primary species; we've got The Doctor's Daleks (EXTERMINATE!) cozying up next to Stargate's Tollan. Someday, I'll take that challenge. I'll show them... I'll show them all!
