Makes you wonder: where is gaff tape in the Star Trek universe? I don't believe for a second that it's no longer useful. Maybe those infinite storage lockers in the halls are just packed with the stuff. Which brings me to another point. When they use the shuttlebays for anything, where do the shuttles go? I see two options: either there are few enough shuttles in the bays to work around, or the shuttles are shuffled (aha, thought I was gonna say "shuttled", didn't you?) elsewhere. If the second case is true, then we have a case of magically disappearing shuttles. If the former, then one has to wonder: why install a huge shuttlebay if you aren't going to stock it with shuttles? Surely a smaller bay would be more efficient, take less space, increase structural integrity, whatever. Which brings me to my final point: does duck tape make things sticky in space?
